Are you vaccinated? Did you get your boosters?
I DON’T CARE.
You can be vaccinated or not, boosters or not, doesn’t make a lick of difference to me.
Do you walk around expecting to know if everyone got their flu shot? Do those who didn’t get their flu shot get cut out of your life? Do you evaluate their worth based on whether or not they got a vaccine? Or do you respect that it is each INDIVIDUAL’S CHOICE?
Shame on all of us. Shame on me for not speaking up sooner. Shame on those who forgot basic human decency. Human kindness. Love for each other. Shame on all of us for allowing the media and government to have such strong influence over our critical thinking, and allowing the fear to seep into our minds and take over. Shame on all of us who have discredited perfectly sane, intelligent doctors and scientists who have only tried to question science, learn more, not just roll over because the government laid down the carpet.
Do you want to know if my daughter and I are vaccinated? Did we get our boosters? WHY do you want to know? It’s personal, and I don’t feel the need to announce it one way or the other. And guess what? Your choice is personal too. If you share that with me, thank you. If you do not, that’s okay too. Because what is right for one person isn’t necessarily right for all persons.
So to all my friends, acquaintances, family or anyone else that has touched my life or vice versa – I am here to publicly say that I love you, I care about you, because YOU are a fellow human being. I wish you perfect health and a lifetime of happiness, and that others treat you with the respect and civility that every human being deserves, and that you do the same for others.
I don’t care if you are vaccinated or not, what a ridiculous thing to base my life and choices around.
Please stop with the judging, the fear-mongering, the hurting. Just open your eyes and realize you are no different than your neighbour. The same God that made him, made you. In His image. How dare we just get to decide who is worthy of love and respect?
I think it’s time for some humility, world. We are way overdue.
Agreed ❤️ Beautifully written !
Thank you Donna, I appreciate that and I hope you can help spread the message. 💙
It is totally disheartening hearing my fellow healthcare colleagues speak of the unvaccinated. I am appalled at hearing things in staff rooms and on the unit leave the lips of individuals that have pledged their lives to assist in the care and save lives. Things like, “ I wish the unvaccinated would curl up and die” or “ we should refuse them treatment, it was their choice”. My goodness if we only treated people that made good choices our hospitals would be empty and no more worries on staffing shortage. On the other hand if we refused treatment to those that made bad choices,,where do we draw the line. Do I turn away the 18 year old that “chose” to get drunk and crashed his car,,,sorry your choice. The extreme adventure that got caught in an avalanche,,,nope sorry your bad choice. We can not allow this kind of mentality plague our healthcare system as it spreads fast. We need to now more than ever focus on educating our patients on healthy eating, exercising daily and having mental health checks and upkeep. We need to also be able to embrace all the true statistics and allow for freedom of medical dialogue to allow for research to improve upon treatment and vaccines.
Yes it is quite scary, the division and judgment that is going on. I couldn’t even imagine being within hearing distance of someone saying those things. I think I would vomit. What I’m afraid of is that I’m going to find out someone close to me, or a good friend, has views like that and I won’t be able to be quiet about it. And you’re referring to that mentality in our health care system, which is truly a tragedy, but now multiply that outside of that industry – it’s seeping into everywhere. I know people who aren’t vaccinated that have personally explained how they’ve been treated badly, by complete strangers, and it’s so massively disheartening. Has it come to this, that we allow the government and media to have such a huge influence on us? Can’t people see what is going on?
Whether the person who chooses not to vaccinate is denied proper healthcare, or just basic human kindness from their fellow neighbors, both are equally unjustifiable. Utterly and completely nonsensical. What is this voodoo media influence that everyone seems to be under? You actually don’t have to dig very far to start seeing things for what they really are. The sad thing is, most people won’t or don’t want to. They just want to rely on our government and mainstream media to set the tone. Because to learn more, to really educate and expose yourself to what is going on, takes effort, and the willingness to be open minded and nonjudgmental, and the willingness to be authentic and not follow the herd.
Beautifully written Karen you are an amazing writer ❤
